De Lakenhal
Museum De Lakenhal has been Leiden’s municipal art museum since 1874.
Housed in a monumental 17th-century hall of inspection for wool fabrics, the museum offers a fascinating journey through the history of Leiden and its art collection.
Museum De Lakenhal’s collection includes paintings by famous Leiden masters, such as Rembrandt van Rijn and Lucas van Leyden, sculptures and arts and crafts and historical objects that tell the story of Leiden’s eventful past, from the Golden Age to the present.
