Over the past few years, I have increasingly immersed myself in the city's rich history. Leiden really is an impressive and special city. Much of the medieval infrastructure is still intact and within the canals the whole area is a national protected cityscape. There is much to see and tell such as about the special development of the city of Leiden from the Middle Ages onwards, through the textile industry and the university, among others. Or, for example, the story behind Leiden's Relief and 3 October. But more recent places and stories are also fun, such as what characterises the real Leiden inhabitant.
I enjoy sharing my knowledge, which is why I organise events together with my colleagues city walks through Leiden. Many now-famous spots in the city are characterised by wonderful historical stories and anecdotes.
Our city walks are full of passion, content and a piece of Leiden humour.
