Bistro & Wine Bar Jeanpagne is a beloved meeting place in the attractive city center of Leiden. Located on the Nieuwe Rijn, Jeanpagne offers a cozy ambiance where you can enjoy delicious food, solid wines and a casual atmosphere.

At Jeanpagne, quality is key. The kitchen works with fresh, local produce and prepares classic dishes with a modern twist. The wine list is extensive with a nice selection of wines from various regions. Jeanpagne is located in the heart of Leiden on the Nieuwe Rijn, where the local goods market is held on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Nieuwe Rijn also forms a link between the Breestraat and the Haarlemmerstraat, the two main shopping streets of Leiden. From the front part of the bistro and from the terrace you have a view of the Koornbrug and the Town Hall. The terrace has afternoon and evening sun, but there is also plenty of natural light inside through the stained glass ceiling in the original courtyard. Owner Jan Pronk has been working in the hospitality industry since his youth. Before starting his own business, he worked as maître-sommelier of star restaurant Calla’s in The Hague and the restaurant of the Royal Hague Golf and Country Club in Wassenaar, respectively.
